While everyone is busy preparing for Surtex (opening Sunday at the Javits Center), I've been wishing I could go and working on some patterns in my spare time. I just finished the first module of The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design, taught by Rachael Taylor.
I created the design with the yellow background (which is currently in with my repeat patterns on this site) and submitted it for their graduate showcase. I'm working on some coordinates so that I can add this to my collections. Also, they will be having a FREE summer course at Make it in Design. Hopefully there will be some exciting posts from other surface designers following Surtex. Best wishes to those attending!
